4/5/2007 - I need a vacation!
I don't know about you guys, but I sure am looking forward to some time in my Jeep, on the
rocks in a place where my cell phone can't even ring. It's getting close, just over a week away!
The email is out, and the post is up here . You will need to be logged in as a member to see
it, and there is a lot of info there. If you have trouble getting to it, send an email to
flatlandrockcrawlers@gmail.com.
It's looking like 8-12 rigs so far, by far the largest turnout we have ever projected. I can hardly
wait!

4/18/2007 - I didn't get to use my winch :(
The April trips to Uwharrie have been a blast - and from what I see on the forum, there is more
mayhem to come in May, if Zach and Ed have anything to do say about it.
I've got a few of the pics from the April trips up on the photo album page, and I hope more
photos will be trickling in over the next few weeks. I think Sparky summed up the trip rather
well, and no breakages was a great way to top it off (other than Lee's sticky brakes). Hopefully
next time will be just a problem free, and maybe without all the rain and idiots clogging up the
trail... If any of you are reading this, when 9 rigs pull up on your six, and there are only three of
you.. pull the hell over and let 'em through.
Oh, and word to the wise; don't take your Tahoe on Daniel trail, unless you really want to buy
new axles and spend the afternoon winching it up a mountain. Special thanks to Brian and
Jordan, we enjoyed the company, and to everyone who spotted in the rain - you are our heroes.

8/19/2007 - Holy Crap, an update!11!!1!one!11
Long time no update, eh? Well, we've done some work with the website to facilitate easier
updates from now on; there should be much more frequent updates now, as well as some
changes to the website coming soon.
Coming attractions are the business meeting on 9/16/07, and Kevin has been gracious
enough to allow us the use of his office in South Harbor Marina; the directions and additional
information are here. At this meeting, I expect to get the roadside cleanup ball moving again,
and we can all find out how the UNF daytrip went today. Hope you guys had a great time! We
are also planning a trip to the Outer banks on 9/14/2007; discuss amongst yourselves here for
the OBX trip. We had a bit of a flop earlier called the Sonic Night, but I would like to try it again;
just a dinner get together at Sonic in ILM. I hear it's not an uncommon thing for car clubs and
the like to go hang out there and pick up chicks, so maybe we can learn something from
Sparky. I'll start the discussion for that here.
Maintenance day went pretty well; turnout was not as high as the previous one, but this one
was a make up for the one that was cancelled by rain. Thanks to Jeepin1995 for stopping in,
as well as the others who just dropped by to say hello :)
And you guys may want to offer your condolences to Mr. Collier; he's not only gotten married
since we had an update, but is now expecting a child! Unfortunately, I just found out today that
his red Jeep is officially totaled :( He says that if he can buy it back, it's going to be a trailered
rig from then on, muahahaa! That means there will probably be a few red fenders up for
grabs. Anyone have a set of 38's laying about?
Oh, and I got to use my winch!

10/11/2007 - Why does Peter Pan drive an Isuzu?
Uwharrie is coming up, the third annual Halloween trip. Maybe we'll get to see Mr. Pan and
Gandalf changing a broken steering knuckle again! Thanks to Pete for starting a good trip
thread here. We will be adding more info to that thread about the trip, so keep an eye on it.
Also, there is a get together for all of us going on the trip on the 19th. We won't kick you out if
you aren't going on the trip, but the idea is to get our ducks in a row before the trip. The
announcement thread is here.
Make sure you have front and rear recovery points, yadda yadda blah blah. If you want to show
up and just ride with someone to check it out, there should be a few seats available for you.
The club is an alcohol free affair, even at night; this works out as we wheel much of the night
anyway, and alcohol is prohibited on the Uwharrie trail system. We hope to see some new
faces and some familar old ones as well.
Oh, I've got a locker now. WOOT!
Rules post for the forum; check them out here.

12/19/2007 - No more smoke signals
Well we finally got our very own forums hosted by our web provider Yahoo. We are all so very
happy to have them back up and functioning. When trying to get to our forums you will need to
click on the forums link and not the pic since we have not changed the link on the pic.
We are going to be having a meet and greet on 1/11/2008 at Wilson's on New Center drive.
We are also planning a trip to Wallace to go shooting along with a trip to the NC Battleship,
and Serpent atrium. When our proud leader Ben get the DVD from the Dec 9 th trip to URE we
are going to have a get together to watch all you guys in action will be really cool.

10/15/2007 - Forums have a major problem
Forums are down we will now be communicating via smoke signal!!!
For all of you who have not been on the forums lately we are having a meeting Oct. Fri 19th @
7 pm @ the Sandfiddler restaurant in Southport.

3/15/2009 - A little TLC
So after a long hiatus, I now have a reliable net connection and have some diabolical plans for
our much unappreciated website. Both Wyld and myself will be working on a full rework for the
website.
For March, we have a meet and greet at Sonic on Friday the 20th, 7:00 pm. We will be talking
about the plans for this Spring and Summer, and the parade in April.

2/28/2007 - Billy Idol could whup Ben.
The March meeting / event is combined into... super cookout! More details on the forums.
The place is Franklin Square park, 2:00 on March 18th. It's a bring your own food affair, but
grilles to cook on, coolers, ice, plates, cutlery and napkins will be provided. I'm hoping we can
line up all the Jeeps on Howe st. for a cool picture.
I can't really think of anything else to say here, but I already made a big space for it, so you
should stare at it and ponder the meaning of life and whatnot. Be the space.

3/28/2009 - Gearing up for Spring and Summer
We're starting to get some of our plans for the spring and summer going now - next up is the
Azalea Festival Parade April 4th. After that we have Uwharrie the first weekend of May.
Maintenance day is tomorrow.
Still working up some designs for the new website look; Wyld is working on a rolling update
plan to get the forums refreshed. Still no tangible results, but we are working on it - have a
little faith! ;)
